Earth Day is an annual day on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Earth Day is observed on April 22 each year. The April 22 date was designated as International Mother Earth Day by a consensus resolution adopted by the United Nations in 2009. Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 192 countries every year.

Results of Earth Day

  • The first April 22 Earth Day had participants and celebrants in Two thousand colleges and universities.
  • 20 million Americans out into the spring sunshine for peaceful demonstrations in favor of environmental reform.
  • Nelson stated that Earth Day "worked" because of the response at the grassroots level.
  • It now is observed in 192 countries, and coordinated by the nonprofit Earth Day Network
  • Earth Day is now "the largest secular holiday in the world.
  • ED Celebrated by more than a billion people every year.
  • Environmental groups have sought to make Earth Day into a day of action which changes human behavior and provokes policy changes.

Earth Day Anthem

Ludwig van Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" melody is already the official anthem of the European Union (in that case purely instrumental without lyrics), the melody is widely recognized and easily performed, in the public domain, and originally composed for voice. Maha Shivratri  is a  Hindu  festival celebrated every year in reverence of Lord  Shiva .It is also known as padmarajarathri. Shivaratri literally means  the great night of Shiva  or  the night of Shiva . .  It is celebrated every year on the 13th night/14th day of the  Maagha  or  Phalguna  month of the  Hindu calendar .   The festival is principally celebrated by offerings of  Bael  or  Bilva / Vilvam  leaves to  Lord Shiva , all-day fasting and an all-night-long vigil. All through the day the devotees, chant the sacred Panchakshara mantra dedicated to Lord "Om Namah Shivaya". On Mahashivratri, Nishita Kala is the most perfect time to observe Shiva Pooja. On this day, in all Shiva temples, the most auspicious Lingodbhava puja is performed during this time.  In Nepal, Pashupatinath Temple is very famous for celebration of Shivratri. What Is Crenation ?

Crenation is a phenomenon which occurs when cells of animal origin are exposed to a hypertonic solution, meaning that the solution which bathes the cells has a high  concentration of solutes. In crenation, the cells shrink and their shapes become distorted, often with a ruffled or scalloped edge. The change in cell shape can be seen in  microscopy  of the cells, and can be a sign that someone is experiencing a medical problem. Crenated cells may die as a result of impairments in cell function. When animal cells are bathed in a hyper-tonic solution, it draws water out of the cells through a process known as osmosis. Water flows from areas of low solute concentration to areas of high solute concentration in an effort to stabilize the difference between the two solutions. Sometimes, particles small enough to pass through the cell walls may be drawn out along with the water, and in other cases, they remain behind because they are too big to move through the  cell membrane .
